Scarfing manipulators
Selective and full-surface scarfing of slabs
Hand scarfing machines continue to be a familiar sight in iron and steel works all round the world. This arduous and painstaking manual work often has to be done in unpleasant ambient conditions of great heat, dust and noise. The scarfing manipulator humanises the work involved.
Sitting in an air-conditioned and dust-free booth, the operator uses a lever to manipulate the scarfing nozzle, thus performing the scarfing work accurately, safely and far less strenuously.
The scarfing manipulator cuts out negative influences while providing a six- to ten-fold increase in productivity as compared to hand scarfing machines, generally with an attendant improvement in quality.
