Over 40 years experience
Our many innovations and inventions have made us a leading worldwide provider

Founder Horst K. Lotz
GeGa Lotz GmbH was founded on 4th October 1965, when we started out in the field of development and supply of scarfing torch machines for smooth surfaces.
Ever faster continuous casting machine pouring rates in the steel industry demanded new, customer-specific solutions, particularly in the field of torch cutting, and as a result it was not long before the first strand cutting machines for slabs and vertical bloom strands were being produced.
We continued to set new standards with a series of innovations and inventions, such as the world’s first add-on continuous torch cutting machine, the first short bloom nozzle and the scarfing manipulator.
With the development of the now legendary SDS power cutting nozzles and the HOBS and LOBS high-pressure oxygen torch cutting systems to increase cutting speeds and reduce media consumption, GeGa became the acknowledged world market leader in the fast cutting of slabs and blooms.
Today GeGa machines, equipment and parts dominate the world market. More than 2,000 sales of machines and equipment, plus well over 200 patents and patent applications are impressive testimony to the cutting-edge nature of GeGa technologies.
Just like our industry our company is developing continuously. That is why the challenge we set ourselves is to use our inventive spirit and creativity, backed up by continuous monitoring of the marketplace, to ensure that we offer a modern and forward-looking spectrum of products for the steel industry.
This GeGa philosophy continues to be built upon well into the future with a new company structure implemented in 2009 under the General Management of Justin Willott – CEO, Mattias Lotz – COO and Tobias Lotz – CFO.
Mr. H. K. Lotz, founding partner of GeGa, continues to support the management team as a consultant, offering his vast amount of experience and expertise in the steel industry.
