Continuous Torch Cutting Machine

for round, square and rectangular billets

In view of the high pouring speeds of modern billet casting plants, the design focused specifically on cutting round, square and rectangular billets with diameters/cross sections measuring up to 200 mm (SAM) and 450 mm (LSM, RBM, BBM and LBM).

With our Type LBM linear cutting machines the cutter travels linearly rather than back and forth across the material. This makes possible the cutting of widths greater than 450mm, and so-called beam blank sizes.

Thanks to new gas and oxygen supply techniques, GeGa continuous torch cutting machines for billets are extremely cost-effective and efficient systems meeting the high standards expected by iron and steel works in terms of quality, consumption, operational safety, maintenance and ease of operation.

Type LBM
linear cutting machine

SPECIAL FEATURES:

  • The machines are equipped with scissor clamps and shuttle cutting systems to accommodate the billet formats to be cut.
  • Automatic adjustment of the cutter setting in the event of strand discrepancies (without changing the cutting geometry)

TECHNICAL DATA:

  • Cutting speed: 50–800 mm/min depending on material and machine type
  • Temperature: up to 900° C
  • Series SDS…F cutting nozzles

PRODUCT DATA:

  • SAM: Round, square and rectangular formats up to 200 mm
  • LSM, RBM, BBM: round formats up to 350 mm diameter, square and rectangular formats up to 350 mm
  • LBM: round formats, square and rectangular formats and beam blanks. This machine type can be fitted with cutter height adjusters, which is necessary for large round formats and beam blanks.
