Scarfing machines and manipulators

Eradication of surface faults

Scarfing manipulators and hand scarfing machines in use

Scarfing machines eradicate surface faults such as cracks, abnormal kerf structures and flaws in slabs, blooms and billets.

Depending on the intended use the machines may be fitted with one or several surface torches (e.g., up to the maximum slab width). An additional option is to fit one or two side surface torches*, thus facilitating the scarfing of both the upper and side surfaces in a single process. Height adjustment devices ensure a constant distance from the item.
